RAICILLA MINERO

RAICILLA MINERO

About

Raicilla and miners have a deeply rooted history in the region of San Sebastian del Oeste, in Jalisco, Mexico. Raicilla is a distilled spirit made from the agave plant, which grows wild in the mountains located in the western part of Mexico. This spirit has its origins in the mining industry of the region, where workers used it as a form of reward after a hard day's work in the mines.

Since the 17th century, the region of San Sebastian del Oeste became an important mining center thanks to its abundant deposits. The miners, known as "picapedreros," were responsible for extracting the minerals from the depths of the earth, which was an extremely difficult and dangerous task. After an exhausting day of work, the miners gathered around a campfire to share stories and drink raicilla, which became a tradition that has endured to this day.

Raicilla Minero honors the indomitable spirit of the people of San Sebastian del Oeste. Minero pays tribute to the contributions of these miners and honors their memory by acknowledging the ultimate sacrifice that many of them made for the development of their community.
