The annual Pentawards competition recognizes the very best in global packaging design, and we had the fortune of being named Gold Winners in the Dark Spirits category and Silver Winners in Wines & Fine Champagne.
Our journey to the Pentawards began in the vibrant city of London. Why did we start there? Because going out into the world and drawing inspiration from cities full of history and creativity is priceless. Moreover, London, with its vibrant atmosphere and design inspiration, is an essential starting point for any creative field. And in a world where our daily life revolves around exploring creativity, having the opportunity to experience cities like this is not only liberating but also an incredible tool.
We immersed ourselves in the city’s energy, visiting iconic places such as the Tate Museum, the British Museum, and the National Gallery; we walked through Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street, and of course, no visit would be complete without stopping by Big Ben. We also explored iconic corners like Soho and, of course, Covent Garden.

London was the perfect prelude before heading to Amsterdam (where the Pentawards would take place) on the Eurostar, enjoying landscapes that reminded us that every city has its own magic.
Upon arriving in Amsterdam, you immediately notice the contrast with cosmopolitan London. Here, there’s a distinctly Dutch atmosphere: emblematic architecture, canals winding through the city, and that unique feeling of being in a place where history and modernity converge. Although we arrived at night, after making the most of our last day in London, we immediately felt the cultural impact of the city.
The next day, we dedicated ourselves to exploring without a set plan, letting the streets of Amsterdam guide us to new discoveries. The weather surprised us, one minute it was raining, the next the sun was shining, and the cold wind was something we hadn’t felt in London. All of this made for a truly complete experience. As night fell, we began preparing for the grand Pentawards ceremony and gala.
Once we arrived at the gala, we could immediately sense that atmosphere of grandeur, that feeling of truly being among the best of the best in the world of design. We’re very proud to say that Human was part of that global top tier. Beyond the honor of receiving such an award, our work demonstrates that we can compete on equal footing with the greats.
Upon arriving at the gala, we were welcomed by the Heineken Studio with a beer in hand. It truly felt like a gala event, where every detail was perfectly curated: branding and design everywhere, welcome cocktails, and an incredible energy in the air.
At Human, we firmly believe that Human Connections are what give meaning to everything we do. That’s why, beyond the award itself, this experience was an opportunity to connect with creative minds from all over the world.

We moved to the main hall, where a huge screen announced the start of the Pentawards. Our table was assigned, and we had the pleasure of sharing it with incredible people from Russia and Egypt. We never imagined leaving with new friends from Russia, Egypt, Spain, Italy, and so many other parts of the world.
The first major moment of the night came when we heard our name in the Fine Wines & Champagne category, for Jacques. Walking up to the stage, receiving the bright silver trophy, (so polished that it’s handed to you with gloves) and hearing the applause of the entire room was an incredible experience.
But the night didn’t end there. In the next category, Dark Spirits, we went back up on stage, this time to receive a Gold Pentaward for Gran Maizal. This is one of the most coveted categories in the packaging industry. As we stepped off the stage, other studios came to congratulate us, and that recognition made the experience even more special. That feeling of pride, teamwork, and shared passion will stay with us for a long time.

The gala ended with a great celebration of music, dancing, and glasses raised, all surrounded by laughter, languages, and accents from around the world. It was the perfect ending to a night full of inspiration, talent, and that shared passion for the art of creating.
Our way back was also a sort of voyage returning to London; a farewell to the city that welcomed us with open arms. Experiencing this as a team was a reminder of why we do what we do: design doesn’t just communicate, it connects, moves, and transcends borders.
Although we already have several awards and honorable mentions, this achievement is not a final point but a new drive. It motivates us to keep going, to continue innovating, and to proudly represent Mexico’s talent and creativity on the world stage of design.
